Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone would have any advice for which game might be a good one to start with for players new to the Accessible Solitaire app and who use Voiceover?

I wondered if a good choice would be the Pyramid game, as I’ve had feedback that some people particularly like that one. One challenge with that game is that after a move is made, the player needs to wait a moment for VoiceOver to settle before making the next move. The same pause after a move is required with the Tri Peaks game, but an interesting aspect of Tri Peaks is that it’s the only game where a card is moved with a single click rather than two clicks.

Of the other games, the Klondike, Grandfather’s Clock, and Royal Parade games are fun to play I think. In fact I really like Royal Parade because I can win it fairly often, but not always.

I find Spider solitaire quite fun to play, but it takes a lot of concentration given that there are ten dealt cards piles. And as for Baker’s Dozen, I don’t know if anyone’s won that one. It has thirteen dealt cards piles and requires tons of effort to learn wherever everything is. In fact I broke the traditional rules of the game when building it, as it seemed just about impossible to win otherwise.

Whatever game is played, there are some settings available that can make a real difference in how enjoyable the game is to play. Some of those settings are mentioned at https://accessiblesolitaire.com/2026/01/26/please-share-your-tips-on-how-to-get-the-most-from-the-accessible-solitaire-game. So it’s worth reviewing that and picking the app settings that you feel might make the games more enjoyable for you.
